Gotye to tour with 10-pieceorchestra
Fri 22nd Jul, 2011 in Local News
Hot off the news that Ashton Kutcher lovers “Our Wally”, Gotye has announced a five date national theatre tour to launch his new album Making Mirrors.
The tour will see Gotye joined by a 10-piece orchestra to help re-create DeBacker’s intricate musical arrangements. Every single note and noise will be played live with Wally on vocals, a midi marimba and, of course, behind the drumkit. The rest of the sounds will be made by a 3-piece horn section, keyboards, guitar, bass and percussion.
To ensure that all your senses are alive throughout the shows there will also be accompanying visuals animated by some of Australia’s finest young artists.
While Making Mirrors is due for release on August 19th, as of today fans can pre-order a bunch of fancy album packages that in their various forms contain exclusive documentaries, film clips and bonus tracks.
Gotye tour dates:
Saturday 20th August – Graphic Festival, Sydney Opera House (Album Preview)
Friday 30th September – The Forum, Melbourne
Thursday 6th October – Her Majesty’s Theatre, Adelaide
Saturday 8th October – Valley Fiesta Brisbane Powerhouse, Brisbane
Saturday 26th November – Foreshore Festival Canberra
Tickets on sale Wednesday 3rd August.
