Andrew Stockdale fined fordrunken song

Earlier this week footage of Wolfmother frontman Andrew Stockdale singing Let It Be at Archive Bar in Brisbane appeared on Youtube. While his pitch-y version of The Beatles’ classic didn’t make for the most comfortable viewing, it was the story that accompanied the footage that kept everyone watching.

Stockdale had reportedly forced his way on stage with the covers band that was playing at the West End bar, to entertain the crowd with an impromptu performance. According to CaptainBloodshot who uploaded the footage: “Later he was removed (Read: Boo’ed off) from the stage and subsequently kicked out,”

Well it seems there was some truth to this piece of internet gossip with the Brisbane Times reporting this morning that Andrew Stockdale has been fined $350 for his attempt to sing on stage and refusing to vacate the premises when asked to do so. The Times states that, “Bar staff refused him service due to his intoxication and attempted to remove him from the premises. But Stockdale sat on the floor and ‘passively resisted’ security.” Reports that he struck the Cosmic Egg yoga pose throughout the silent protest have yet to be confirmed.
