Hyde Park Hotel reopening soon

We’ve been hearing rumours of a reopening date for a while now, and considering it has been spiffed up on the inside, it is with some trepidation that Perth’s original-music loving crowd looks forward to the grand reopening of the Hyde Park Hotel.

Will it ever be the same? Will it still be universally heralded by future generations of Perth bands as the place where it all began? How long will it take for the new carpet to regain its characteristic gumminess? It all remains to be seen.

The first gig to be announced for the transformed icon looks promising. Every second Friday night Electonic (by JumpClimb) will present us with a selection of local electro acts, launching with a Parklife sideshow on August 26th; Hyde-Parklife …We see what you did there.

The Hyde Park Hotel is at 331 Bulwer St North Perth. Entry is free, and they’ll be giving away tickets to Parklife on the night as well. Doors open at 6pm.
