Mon 18th Jul, 2011 in Local News
We may be in the midst of a 90s revival, but that doesn’t mean that the decade that brought us both Spandex and Wham has had its day just yet. According to the aureview the UKs Rewind 80s Festival is coming to Australia this October, with a line-up guaranteed to have the over 40s set in a hair-teasing frenzy.
The camping event, set to take place on Saturday the 29th and Sunday 30th October at BlueScope Field on the NSW South Coast, will be headlined by funk-disco icons Kool & the Gang. Joining them for a weekend of jungle boogying is Sister Sledge, Bananarama, ABC and Human League.
And just to make the 80s experience all the more authentic, the festival will feature other on-site entertainment including Silent Discos and Karaoke Bars. Expect more acts to be announced over the next month.
Update:
The second rounds of acts for the festival have been announced with the way too sexy Right Said Fred; Candi Staton, who sung the original version of You Got the Love; The Straits (featuring ex-Dire Straits members); (I Just) Died in Your Arms hitmakers Cutting Crew; Kim Wilde plus Tapau and The Real Thing joining the lineup.
