Single Twin heads out
Thu 14th Jul, 2011 in Local News
After nearly a decade fronting Melbourne indie quartet Deloris, singer-songwriter Marcus Teague has released his debut solo album under the moniker Single Twin.
The self-titled record was a labour of love for Teague, who recorded and mixed it at home over a six month period and describes it as an album about “divergent possibilities and projected identities. Fantasies, mythology, memories and figetry.”
Although Single Twin performances have been few and far between over the past two years, when FasterLouder last caught a show our reviewer concluded: “Teague has taken all that was brilliant and loved in Deloris, spun it about in a folk tale and created a truly warm and thoughtful sound in Single Twin.”
Kicking off with a gig at the Grace Darling in Melbourne tonight, Teague and band will be taking Single Twin’s tunes on the road throughout August.
Single Twin tour dates:
Thursday 14th July – Grace Darling, Melbourne
Tuesday 2nd August – Street Theatre, Canberra
Wednesday 3rd August – Lass O’Gowrie, Newcastle
Thursday 4th August – Low 302, Sydney
Friday 5th August – Secret gig to be announced on the Single Twin Facebook
Saturday 6th August – Yours and Owls, Wollongong
