WOMAD Earthstation

The folks behind WOMADelaide will introduce a new event, Earthstation to take place in the delightful surroundings of Belair National Park (Long Gully) on October 21-23.
The event to be headlined by Kronos Quartet will also feature a series of forums and panels focussing on environmental sustainability, music and the arts. Other musical performers to be announced include Africa’s Toumani Diabaté and Mista Savona. While geologist Prof Steve Pekar, activist and comedian Rod Quantock and actress Cate Blanchett will head up the panels.
Camping facilities for 1200 people will be available on site for the three day weekend and just like WOMAD proper, Earthstation will feature the usual array of food, craft, clothing and cultural stalls.
Tickets go on sale from July 5 with the full lineup announced in August.
