Falls Festival have announced the addition of six more bands on their 2011 line-up, which already boasts Arctic Monkeys, Fleet Foxes, Tim Finn, The Jezabels, Easy Star All Stars and Arj Barker.

Continuing with their surprise line-up additions Falls has confirmed that incendiary electronic pop due Crystal Castles will be headed our way this New Year’s Eve, along with FL Playlisters Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Also heading along to Lorne and Marion Bay in December is the legenday J Mascis, Josh Pyke, Papa vs Pretty and the Wonderful World of DJ Yoda.

That leaves another 54 acts to be confirmed for the Falls Festival in coming months with experimental trio Battles and English electro pop act Metronomy likely additions as both recently made statements suggesting that they’ll be in Australia for New Years.

29th, last year it was mostly locals for the majority of the day and a couple of smaller internationals. The 30th is when all the big internationals start though.

Interesting. I have a wedding on the 28th and it will take me 10 hours to drive down. I may have to look at getting an early morning flight and hire a car.

When Fleet Foxes played Falls Lorne they were on the 29th- as were another couple of decent internationals. Then again, last year it was pretty average. There's also a funk & soul night on the 28th, which if nothing else helps to break up the flow of punter arrivals.

fair enough, though they did sell out the Enmore last time, so i don't see why they wouldn't play a larger venue again, as long as it's AA im happy
