Meredith Music Festival turnstwenty-one
Mon 27th Jun, 2011 in Local News
We are now officially closer to the next Meredith Music Festival than we are the last, and while this doesn’t mean we will be forgetting that Neil Finn set any time soon it does mean its time to start incessantly checking the Elders weather website.
It also means it’s time to make sure you have entered the ballot and time to start planning the party of the year, ‘cause this December Meredith Music Festival is turning twenty-one.
It’s time to Par-tay
What does this mean? Well, according to Aunty M she and the team are planning a party that “goes for three days and two nights with every colour-of-the-rainbow type of fun in there…fun party, epic party, reflective party, wild party, arty party, house party, garden party. Maybe a speech from a drunk uncle, maybe a history of her doofus moments (mystery act, anyone?)”
A new campsite – fu*k yeah!
To make this year all the more special there will also be a whole new campground opening up ( however, capacity will remain exactly the same. ) The new site will be just off Bush Camp and have views over the Supernatural Amphitheatre, across the rolling pastoral scenes to Krakatoa in the distance. It will mean that those Meredith faithful who like to get a little creative with their surrounds will have the chance to pitch an extra pergola/teepee/combi van. The name of the new site is still up for debate, but shortlisted options include Poland, Aspiration Point and Upstairs.
No Pergolas in the Amphitheatre
Aunty M has also made the executive decision to ban pergolas from the Amphitheatre this year, but of course couches, eskys and general riff raff are all still allowed. According to the lady herself there was “too many complaints about blocking the view, and yes they are a safety hazard.”
While there have been a few whispers about who will be playing the 21st Meredith Music Festival, there are no confirmations just yet. Expect the first line-up around mid-August and if you want to have some input Aunty would love to hear from you, so just head here.
