Roger Waters ‘The Wall’tour

There have been rumours that Roger Waters will be bringing his concert tour ‘The Wall’ to Australia ever since he announced a tour to perform the classic Pink Floyd album in full back in early 2010. Now we can finally confirm that the tour will reach Australia in January 2012.

The show has been described as the “most ambitious performance of his long career” and features 3D animations, explosions, a Stuka bomber that dives into the stage and a 230 feet long and 35 feet high wall, which is build brick by giant brick by stage hands during the spectacular, two-hour plus show.

Friday 27th January – Burswood Dome, Perth
Saturday 28th January – Burswood Dome, Perth New Show
Wednesday 1st February – Entertainment Centre, Brisbane Sold out
Thursday 2nd February – Entertainment Centre, Brisbane
Saturday 4th February – Entertainment Centre, Brisbane New Show
Tuesday 7th February – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne Sold out
Wednesday 8th February – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne Sold out
Friday 10th February – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
Saturday 11th February – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne New Show
Tuesday 14th February – Acer Arena, Sydney
Wednesday 15th February – Acer Arena, Sydney

Roger Waters on Valentine's Day is certainly a different sounding experience to Michael Buble of this year.

When Roger brought the Dark side tour out here in 07, tickets ranged from 99 - 399. Was well worth it!

i'm going to take the risk and wait for general sale.

Not too much of a risk IMO, there's a week between each show date so even though they have a massive production to break down , move and set up again, you'd have to think the promoters are prepared for second shows.

Gold reserve is the best place to sit I think, you'll get to take in the whole production and properly hear the surround sound mixing without having to live off 2 minute noodles for the next month!

That's just the Visa pre sale that has sold out, more Gold tix at ACER will be available on 11th July, I wouldn't be surprised if there are second and third shows added in Sydney also, so it might be worth holding off on Melb tix

Presumably the promoter also pockets whatever sponsorship fee Visa paid for the right to have a Visa Entertainment Presale.

Visa's upside is surely just the exposure, rather than a cut of the tickets.

i don't really care who it goes to, i just think its a bit of a rip that the ticket companies have found another way to gouge customers. if i was a visa customer who buys tickets through presales i'd be pretty pissed that its gone from being free to $20 a pop. fortunately most of the time there are other presales that don't have the extra costs.

You're missing the point dude, the promoter is making the extra money here not the ticket company, Like Braveheart said the only thing VISA get from it is the exposure and the fact that their existing card holders feel an extra benefit to having their Visa card.

There are no pre sales for big tours that are "free", some promoters have pre sale via their own website where they still include the extra fee, or there are the premium on sellers where the promoters still impose the fee.
