Eagle and the Worm tour
Thu 23rd Jun, 2011 in Local News
The eight piece Eagle and the Worm have just released one of the finest debut albums of the year – Goodtimes – a heady mix of blues psychedelia, tropicalia and some of the best tunes Brian Wilson never had a chance to write.
They played a few shows around the country earlier in the year including a slot on the Big Day Out bill in Melbourne and a show in Canberra where FL’s reviewer praised the group for their “true charisma and an unhingeable energy throughout their performance, pumping out their songs with real character and a strong stage presence”.
Now Eagle and the Worm have announced that they’ll be taking the full Goodtimes production and eight piece lineup on a national tour, which will coincide with the release of Goodtimes on 12” vinyl. The band has also recorded a very limited edition 7” of lead single Too Young which will be available at the shows.
Fellow Melbourne crew The Frowning Clouds will open all the shows (except in WA and QLD) with their 60s garage soul tunes.
