Fat As Butter back for 2011

Fat As Butter festival will be back this later this year for a fourth year of action on the Newcastle foreshore on Saturday 22nd October.

Ice Cube, Hilltop Hoods, The Dandy Warhols, Bliss N Eso, Grinspoon, and Wolfmother have all played at the festival in the past and although can’t tell you who will be on the lineup just yet, but we got a sneak peak at the bill this morning and we reckon there are quite a few acts to get excited about, including some impressive international visitors. Stay tuned for the full lineup announcement on Monday 18th July.

Fat As Butter has sold out for three years running, but the festival knows it can be hard to punters to splash out for tickets so this year they’re offering a “Time To Pay” ticketing option for the first time that will let you pay off their festival ticket in three instalments – a handy option for all of you feeling the festival ticket squeeze. Tickets will go on sale from Wednesday 27th July.

its a good idea in theory but what if 5000 people who pay the first installment and take tickets off the market then change their minds about going? it would be a major pain in the arse for whichever ticketing company is handling it, I bet there's a clause in the T's and C's that states your credit card will be charged the full amount after a certain period of time.

The same argument could be made for any shop that does lay-buy.

When you buy these tickets I imagine you will signing a contract stating solid cut off dates and non-refundable deposits/payments to deter people doing just that.

Presumably you make your second instalment early enough such that if people don't complete their purchases, you can put their tickets back up for sale and already have one third of the cash.

As the instalment systems I've seen are more expensive than just buying the ticket outright, I imagine that not that many people will make use of it.

I would rather give birth(in three monthly installments) to a litter of elephants straight out of my sphincter than attend this festival.
I have quasi friends that go every year and I secretly hate them, they also like to say Bazinga! which makes me hate them further.
