Powderfinger to releasebiography
Tue 7th Jun, 2011 in Local News
In Open Up And Bleed Iggy Pop detailed the debilitating extent of his drug addictions throughout the 70s; in Life Keith Richards revealed the real reason behind Mick Jagger’s swagger; and in Footprints, the forthcoming biography about the recently retired Powdefinger, there will no doubt be dozens of equally scandalous revelations about Australia’s hardest living rock band.
Okay, so it may not be all sex, drugs and rock n roll, but Footprints, written by former Australian Rolling Stone editor and music journalist Dino Scatena, will intimately detail the 20 year career of The Finger – from their high school days in the 80s to their epic farewell tour last year. Due for release on November 8th the book will feature hundreds of never-before seen photos of the band along with interviews with all members and the friends and family that were there for the ride.
Of the first ever authorized biography of the band, author Scantena says “They are genuinely five of the sweetest, humblest and funniest guys you’ll meet in rock & roll. That won’t come as a shock to anyone who knows anything about Powderfinger. What will surprise is the story these very private men finally share here about their extraordinary 20 years together – a revelation for even the most diehard of ’Finger fans’”
