Odd Future pair to missAustralian tour?
Mon 30th May, 2011 in Local News
Only a hip hop iconoclast like Tyler the Creator, or a rapper with a demented travel agent, would play a set at the Primavera Sound festival in Spain on the 28th of May, then fly home to California via London for a six hour visit before jumping back on a plane to head to a show on 31st May as the Sydney Opera House.
The taxing travel and inevitable jetlag aren’t the only problems for the leader of 2011 hype heroes Odd Future as a series of tweets from Tyler reveal that at least two of the OFWGKTA crew – Hodgy Beats and Mike G – may not make it to Australia.
However a flurry of tweets from Hodgy Beats seem detail his frantic dash to make it to Australia – “Back in LA whores!”; “headed to Australia whores!”; “They don’t like me.”; “This can end up very…very bad.”; “The gang leaves me behind in the US. FUCK!!!”; “Racing to the airport! They cleared me! BOW!”; “Gotta get on this fucking plane!” and finally “Ill be missing the first show due to the embassy.”
Hopefully he makes the flight, with Earl Sweatshirt still sitting out the group’s tour at the Coral Reef Academy in Samoa, just it’s looking like Odd Future may be lacking in members for their sets at Vivid LIVE and their sideshows in Melbourne and Brisbane.
Vivid LIVE confirmed to FasterLouder that they expect Tyler the Creator, Syd The Kyd, Domo Genesis, Mike G, Left Brain and Hodgy Beats to be here for the Sydney Opera House shows.
