Let’s hear it for the Mac! In an interview with queen of the internets Perez Hilton, Fleetwood Mac’s leading lady Stevie Nicks has revealed that she will be touring Australia this November.
When asked by Hilton if she plans to take her new solo album In Your Dreams out on the road, Nicks responded: “We’re already going to Australia in November. We do well in Australia. I don’t even have to have a record to go to Australia.”
In Your Dreams is Nicks’ seventh solo album, and was co-produced by Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics and Glen Ballard, the man behind Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill and a few of Michael Jackson’s finest moments.
In the same interview Stevie Nicks also confirmed that despite earlier rumblings to the contrary Fleetwood Mac is far from over. She told Perez : “So by the time, you know when this album and Lindsey’s album come to a stop then Fleetwood Mac will gather again and we’ll either make another record or we won’t and we’ll just go on tour.”
The timing of Nicks’ Australian tour would make her the perfect headliner for the Hanging Rock Concert Series which was launched last year with a superb event featuring Leonard Cohen and Paul Kelly. Following the success of the debut event at Hanging Rock, promoter Michael Gudinski expressed his desire to make the concert an annual event featuring “older-appealing heritage acts.”
With that good news, we are off to listen to Fleetwood Mac’s Tusk in its entirety, with the pauses, just as Lindsay Buckingham intended it to be heard.
