The Black Angels tour
Wed 11th May, 2011 in Local News
Psychedelic Texan rockers The Black Angels are bringing the sounds of their new record Phosphene Dream down under for the first time ever this June.
We last heard from the experimental six-piece upon the release of their 2008 opus Directions To See A Ghost which was described by its FasterLouder reviewer as “…eleven songs – even the snappiest of which still ticks in at four-and-a-half minutes – that transport you back to a smoky student share-house. It takes hold of your mind, leaving you with a vocabulary of “wha?” and ”huh?” for the duration, till you are suddenly snapped out of it with a sudden urge for Chicken Twisties.”
The Black Angels will –please three exclusive shows when they hit town with a few special guests including tambourine extraordinaire Joel Gion of the Brian Jonestown Massacre.
Catch The Black Angels at the following shows:
Thursday 30th June – Hi-Fi, Brisbane
Friday 1st July – Metro Theatre, Sydney
Saturday 2nd July – HiFi, Melbourne
