Community Cup line-up
Tue 3rd May, 2011 in Local News
Melbourne’s annual celebration of all things football and music, the Reclink Community Cup, will return to Elsternwick Park on Sunday June 26th June this year.
Following on from last year’s romping set from The Living End, Reclink has enlisted 90s legends Tumbleweed and You Am I to head up the post event entertainment. As a star player and Vice Captain of the Rock Dogs, Tim Rogers is no stranger to the Community Cup, so here’s hoping he has the stamina to kick a winning goal and make it up on stage afterwards.
Other bands performing on the day include Mercy Kills and The Ravelles, with the National Anthem being sung by the man with the best set of choppers in music, Barry Morgan.
If you don’t know who Barry Morgan is, here is a little reminder:
If you have never been along to a Community Cup before, than this is the year to do it. It is a footy match like no other, between the Triple R 102.7FM and PBS 106.7FM Megahertz and the Espy Rockdogs which raises money for Reclink, an organisation that uses sport and the arts to enhance the lives of people experiencing disadvantage.
