Gomez confirmed for Splendour

Ben Ottewell, the bloke from Gomez with the gravelly bluesy voice, is currently in Australia touring his solo album Shapes and Shadows and has revealed to FasterLouder that he’ll be back in July to play at Splendour.
The singer told us that he has a very busy year – “between this solo record and the Gomez record I am very busy and will take a bit of a break when I get home. We are going to be in the UK in June and then July in the States and then over here in July going into August and then back in the States in September. We are going to be at Splendour.”
Gomez played at Splendour way back in 2002 and last visited us in 2009 for a run of shows celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut Bring It On by playing Don’t Look Back-style shows. Their new album Whatever’s On Your Mind will be released in June; giving us a few weeks to learn all the new tunes before the festival.
The official line up will be announced next week on Wednesday 13th April.
