The Get Up Kids tour
Thu 7th Apr, 2011 in Local News
Emo trailblazers The Get Up Kids are coming to Australia to show off tunes from their new album There Are Rules, the first we have heard from the band since they reformed in 2008.
The Kansas City base five-piece were last on shores in early 2010, where they were a crowd favourite at Soundwave Festival and led our FasterLouder reviewer to declare: “[The Get Up Kids] are one band that should not be missed at any opportunity.”
When we spoke to singer Matthew Pryor about the reformation he made it clear that the band were back in the game for all the right reasons: “Now] it’s more like how it was when we first started playing, when we didn’t really worry about stuff so much, sonow we’re just excited to keep it light and have a good time. I mean it’s really about us enjoying one another’s company again.”

Saturday 6th August – The Metro, Sydney
Sunday 7th August – Billboard, Melbourne
