My Disco in accident, cancelshows

Experimental Melbourne three-piece My Disco have had to cancel a handful of shows on their upcoming national tour after bassist/vocalist Liam Andrews was involved in a traffic accident.

Andrews was rushed to hospital following the accident and is currently in recovery, which the band expects will be a slow and painful process.

In a statement issued this afternoon My Disco advised that the Sydney, Geelong and Canberra shows will definitely not be going ahead but that at this stage their Melbourne, Perth and Newcastle gigs will happen.

The accident also comes only months before the band was set to embark on an extensive tour overseas to promote their accomplished third album Little Joy, which came in at number twenty-three on FL’s Best Albums of 2010.

Crazy shit. Ben was telling me about their string of bad luck just the other day and now this happens.

That's terrible news, hope he recovers quickly. They were great at their Hi Fi Bar show late last year and I was looking forward to seeing them again this time.
