Jesse 'The Devil' Hughesheaded to Oz

Only last year Jesse ‘The Devil’ Hughes told FasterLouder “I fucking love it there. I fetishise Australia – I play Maton guitars, I wear R.M. Williams riding boots, I use Australian microphones. I fucking love the place. I say that Australia is the most beautiful place in the world.” If that wasn’t evidence enough that the Eagles Of Death Metal frontman has a soft spot for Down Under than the announcement of his return to our shores surely is.

That’s right; the lady-loving, blood-nut rocker is heading to Australia this May to headline Melbourne’s Cherry Rock Festival. With a line-up that already includes a reformed Died Pretty and Brisbane cowboys Six Ft Hick, Hughes (who will be backed by a three piece band for this show) is the guitar-shredding icing on the cake for Cherry’s annual event.

No further gigs have been confirmed for Hughes so far, but stay tuned to FasterLouder for updates.
