Live music leaves The Maram
Mon 21st Mar, 2011 in Local News
It’s official, live music at The Maram has been cancelled. Well music brought to you by The Greenroom anyway.
The rumours began after a series of big name shows made their move to ANU Bar after originally being booked at the southside venue.
Today, Garry Peadon, the man behind The Greenroom and live music at The Maram released this statement to FasterLouder:
After several incidents and other issues that had occurred at the Maram, The Greenroom decided to cease services with The Maram on 28th Feb. All shows that The Greenroom had booked except for a select few where cancelled. The following shows have been moved to the ANU Bar – Gareth Liddiard, British India, Propagandhi, Jebediah and Frenzal Rhomb. Tickets that had already been purchased through Moshtix are still valid for these shows. All future tickets are now to be purchased through Ticketek.
It was only eight months ago when Peadon announced that The Greenroom had found a new home at The Maram in Wanniassa.
2010 saw The Maram play host to many memorable shows including Wolf & Cub, British India, Regurgitator, Whitley, You Am I and Hungry Kids of Hungary and was a welcome relief for music lovers desperate for top quality live music on the southside.
