MF Doom local support

One of the biggest wins for hip-hop gracing Perth shores this year without a doubt is the enigmatic silver masked emcee cum producer MF Doom aka Daniel Dumile; king of the underground hip hop scene for the last 20 years.
The Perth leg plays out at Metro City on the 25th of March with support from Layla from the SBX crew, Dazastah and DJ Armee from Downsyde, King Leonidas, LStreet and your usual resident hip hop DJ support Mr Charlie Bucket.
The many guised Manhattan rapper has performed under various monikers including Madvilan, King Geedorah, Metal Face, Viktor Vaughn and collaborated with some of the worlds best hip hop producers including most notably Danger Mouse (with the Dangerdoom project) and Madlib (with Madvillainy). The later arguably being his breakthrough to commercial success, this is a performer who is most well known for … well not being known at all; beyond his many mysterious characters.
Dumile reinvented and resurfaced a recluse rapper years after the tragic death of his brother and his 90s hip hop outfit KMD and has since become a beacon for redefining the hip-hop genre time and time again. Doom plays homage to comic books and a love of sci-fi channel ling a character from the Dr Doom comic series and brings to the table genius intellect and multi-syllable rhyming to the tremors of his peers.
Live he is a very rare dish; more often in the studio than on stage and rumours say that like the comic series, Doom has commissioned impostors to perform under his mask on stage across recent North American shows. But fear not, we’ve been assured of the real deal, courtesy of customs passport checks; so Dumile will be donning some board shorts and catching the last wave of summer with his first ever Australian tour throughout March.
