Parades tour

Parades have had a busy start to 2011, scoring a slot on the bill at the Sydney Big Day Out and playing support sets for Beach House, Cold War Kids and Two Door Cinema Club.

In April they’ll be playing their own headline shows on the East Coast, with support from Brisbane’s Little Scout, to launch their new single Water Stories.

The single is the first taste of the follow up to Parades’ debut album Foreign Tapes, which was described by FL as “the kind of album that leaves its listeners at either end of extremities; either completely speechless or tripping over themselves in order to decided which hyperbole is most immediately applicable”.

Parades tour:
Thursday 7th April – The Harp Hotel, Wollongong
Friday 8th April – The Gaelic Club, Sydney
Saturday 9th April – Woodland Bar, Brisbane
Thursday 14th April – The Karova Lounge, Ballarat
Friday 15th April – Northcote Social Club, Melbourne
Saturday 16th April – Jive Bar, Adelaide

Noooo! The night of Jimmy eat world in Sydney and the night of white lies when they're playing in wollongong :( best aussie album of last year and they're so great live! Ahhh damn you concert gods

Only possible downside is that the Sydney show appears to be at the Purple Sneakers thing and Purple Sneakers can go to hell.

Actually thatdude, the only tinys I've been to the new gaelic sneakers was for Jonathan boulet and I found it a much better place than the abecrombie. Still, considering the type of night it is, it would be more enjoyable with at least one other person

I'd go if I didn't have a massive boner for Jimmy Eat World (I realised shortening their name probably wouldn't have been a good idea), next time though :( I'm glad "last night"(why the renaming?) is having live bands though.

But they were one of my top 5 middle of the road English debuts of 2009.

I thought their debut was mediocre thus far.

I saw them at metro and enjoyed them that night. Even though Parades are the better band, they'll probably have a few more tours this year and White Lies wouldn't come back for some time.

Excellent set at the Harp. Strongly recommend their opening acts, Sealion and Little Scout. Very cool.
