Rollins turns 50 Down Under
Thu 24th Feb, 2011 in Local News
On one of his annual sojourns to Australia back in 2008, Henry Rollins told FasterLouder “Everything past 40 for me… has been a kind of humbling experience. And it has stripped me of my cynicism”. Well, just last week Rollins turned 50 and to celebrate making it to half a tonne the punk icon turned author/actor/producer/very-fast-talker is coming back down under to prove he’s no middle aged cynic.
This coming March Rollins will be perform four very intimate spoken word shows at the Gaelic in Sydney and the Espy in Melbourne. If you have ever seen him in spoken word mode you will know the man can talk, so both the gigs will be seated and capped at 200 tickets.
The shows will see Rollins look back on the first 50 years of his life, through which he hopes to “be able to evince some imperfect pearls of ancient wisdom to the audience, having made it this far.”
Get in quick to see Rollins turn 50 this March:
Sunday March 6th – Gershwin Room, Melbourne
Monday March 7th – Gershwin Room, Melbourne
Tuesday March 8th – Gaelic, Sydney
Wednesday March 9th – Gaelic, Sydney
Tickets for all shows are to go on-sale Monday 28th February.
