Parkway Drive, You Me At Sixheadline the 'Mix N' Mash'tour

You Me At Six and Bleeding Through have dropped off the tour, replaced by Ohio band Miss May I

ARIA award winning heavy metal outfit Parkway Drive are joining forces with British band You Me at Six, metal-core six-piece Bleeding Through, pop-punk group The Wonder Years and Melbourne locals Confession for a killer tour this May.

Parkway Drive frontman Winston McCall says that the ‘Mix N’ Mash’ tour “has a bit of everything for anyone who likes their music a little faster, a little more energetic, something local, something punk, something heavy, something rock, and then us…These days it seems every tour has become so stream lined to one particular sound you may as well be watching the same band play four or five times in a row.”

The Mix N’ Mash tour:

Wednesday 18th May – Riverstage, Brisbane
Thursday 19th May – High School, Byron Bay
Friday 20th May – Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
Saturday 21st May – Panthers, Newcastle
Sunday 22nd May – WIN Entertainment Centre, Wollongong
Wednesday 25th May – Festival Hall, Melbourne
Friday 27th May – Challenge Stadium, Perth
Saturday 28th May – Uni Grounds, Adelaide

Tickets on sale Friday 25th February

i'm overdue to give PARKWAY DRIVE a decent listen, weren't so into the one song i've heard but a mate reckons they slay... having said that he hasn't even heard any Sepultura or Soulfly so i don't take a heap of notice of his opinion when it comes to metal

I just don't quite relate to the whole "metal coming outta Byron Bay" thing... i tend to like my metal and punk to come from more angsty environments/circumstances

You might like a bit of their early stuff, but their latest is unremarkable. You're probably a bit too old for Parkway, if I'm gonna be totally honest - and I don't mean that offensively; I'm too old for them too.

Fuck you. Parkway Drive are fucking sick. People need to fuckin get off their fuckin highhorse about quality Australian music.

These guys work fuckin hard and their music is sick. Much better than that rubbish that you probably fucking listen to. PWD are the best band in Australia and they're really awesome guys who are fucking awesome at their instruments. They play so much faster and harder than those other shit bands.

I gave them a go because I tend to be hit and miss with heavier music, but the vocalist sounded too much like cookie monster for my liking.

I bought Deep Blue and I do like it. I do prefer metal singers rather than growlers though. Worth checking out "gibbo"

As much as I do like The Wonder Years, I question how they will translate on the Riverstage to a large audience, especially when they're also wedged between Confession and Bleeding Through. Very glad to have seen them in a smaller venue in September or whenever it was.
