The Dandy Warhols return
Fri 18th Feb, 2011 in Local News
Earlier this month Dandy Warhols drummer Brent DeBoer revealed that the group is “maybe a little over halfway with our record. All of February is dedicated to recording… And then the Dandys are coming here in May. That’s being worked on. That’s not a guarantee, but I think they’ll be here at the end of May.” Turns out the man they call Fathead knew what he was talking about.
The rest of the crew – Courtney Taylor-Taylor, Peter Holmström and Zia McCabe – will join Melbourne resident DeBoer in Australia for a tour that kicks off in Freo.
The band was in Australia for the Parklife last year, but other than a sideshow in Hobart they didn’t play any club dates, so this will be a chance for punters who didn’t fancy seeing the Dandys play to a crowd of Missy Elliot and Groove Armada fans to get a dose of the band’s psychedelic rock.
The Dandy Warhols tour:
Tuesday 24th May – Metropolis, Fremantle
Thursday 26th May – HQ, Adelaide
Friday 27th May – The Palace, Melbourne
Sunday 29th May – The Enmore, Sydney
Tuesday 31st May – The Tivoli, Brisbane
Tickets on sale Thursday 3rd March
