Propagandhi tour in May
Thu 10th Feb, 2011 in Local News
Update:
When Propagandhi last toured Australia in 2009 it had been eleven years since their previous visit, but thankfully they’re planning to return without a decade long break.
As the excited cheers of children ring out, guitarist and vocalist “David ‘The Beaver’ Guillas* announced on the band’s podcast this week that: “We’re going to Australia… and Tasmania, but that’s part of Australia.” No dates have been confirmed, but the tour will apparently coincide with bassist Todd Kowalski birthday in late May.
On the band’s last Australian tour drummer Jord Samolesky had a smashed knee and explains that he “felt a little bit hobbled” and unable to sing, but the band promises that their 2001 tour “will be an entirely different vibe for people at this show with a better sampling of their songs represented, a better performance and a better attitude from our drummer”.
You can listen to the announcement (as wall as an interview with a Sudanese refugee and music by Sacrifice, Deadstoolpigeon, Bob Marley and the Nels Cline Trio) on the podcast via the band’s website. The announcement comes roughly 10 minutes and 20 seconds in to the 55 minute recording.
