Howl is dead, long liveHunting Grounds
Wed 9th Feb, 2011 in Local News
What’s in a name you ask? Quite a lot these days it seems. Like so many who have come before them Ballarat youngsters Howl are changing their name, and just early enough to avoid any Shihad/Pacifier like backlash.
From this day forth Howl, who first shot to attention after winning triple j Unearthed High, will be known as Hunting Grounds. The band has issued a statement saying the name change was made because they were sick of “being mistaken for a doom metal band hailing from Rhode Island”. Who wouldn’t be really?
Hunting Grounds are hitting the road this month as support for Grinspoon on their extensive regional tour of Australia. The band also plans to start work on their debut album, a follow up to their “polished yet punky”- EP Brothers In Arms.
