2011 Rolling Stone awardwinners

The 2011 Rolling Stone awards winners have been announced at a party in Sydney featuring a guest list of musical stars and Wes Carr.

Though the awards primarily recognised musical achievements several categories sought to also award achievements in film, TV, literature, art, politics or activism. Judges this year included Tim (Rosso) Ross, Adam Brandt, Michael Chugg and Tim Rogers.

The Rolling Stone Award for outstanding contribution to popular culture was awarded to Paul Kelly, while Michael Chugg took home the title of ‘The Immortal’ for his lifetime contribution to popular culture. Julian Assange, who unsurprisingly didn’t attend the ceremony, won the ‘Mover & Shaker’ prize, with Clare Bowditch and Animal Kingdom director David Michod winning the awards for Best Female and Male.
