Relief for Mos Def fans has come in the way of an official statement from Future Entertainment, confirming the rapper will be here in time for the Hot Barbeque event in Point Nepean this weekend. The tour was placed in doubt this week after the cancellation of an already rescheduled appearance in Adelaide, however, this update may be the green light fans have been patiently waiting for.
In the statement, Mos Def himself announced: “I am confirming that I am booked and ready to head down under.” The promoters of the other dates, Peace Music, have also issued a statement to declare that: “Following much conjecture, re scheduling and about a thousand phone calls we’re very pleased to advise that Grammy Award-nominated rapper, actor and poet Mos Def’s Australian tour is all systems go! At the time of this release, Mos Def is on a plane from LA to Melbourne. The majority of his touring party arrived here early this morning.”
“Everyone at Peace music has been working tirelessly to ensure that this tour has been delivered to time. While the tour’s arrived later than we intended, we like to think that some things are worth waiting for and we hope that Mos Def’s legion of Australian fans agree.”
