Janelle Monae cancels GoodVibrations tour

Rising pop superstar Janelle Monae, who dropped the mightily impressive album The ArchAndroid last year, seems will miss her scheduled Good Vibrations sets after accepting an invitation to perform at the Grammy Awards ceremony.
Monae broke the news, and the hearts of her Australian fans, by confirming the news via Twitter: “:-D !’m Very thankful to be performing at The 2011 Grammy Awards!!!!” She’ll join Eminem, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Arcade Fire, and fellow Good Vibrations cancellation Cee-Lo Green on stage at the awards.
The festival has issued a statement to confirm the news:
“On behalf of Jam Music, we can confirm that Janelle Monáe has just been added to the line up to perform at the Grammy awards on February 13th. This last minute announcement from the Recording Academy unfortunately means that Janelle Monáe will no longer be able to appear at the 2011 Good Vibrations Festival as planned.”
Update: Janelle Monae has made an announcement on Twitter: “Rescheduling our Australian dates. Will keep u posted. be there soon! Thanks for being so patient & understanding. Love u guys. Xx”
Good Vibrations festival dates:
Saturday 12th February – Centennial Park, Sydney
Sunday 13th February – The Nursery, Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne
Saturday 19th February – Parklands Showgrounds, Gold Coast
Sunday 20th February – Claremont Showground, Perth
