Elvis Costello sideshows

Following on from the news that Bob Dylan will be playing a run of Bluesfest sideshows in April, the legendary Elvis Costello has announced two additional gigs in Melbourne and Sydney as well.
Costello was last on our shores for a short run of intimate shows at the end of 2009. Since then the prolific song-writer has penned yet another album, the T-Bone Burnett produced National Ransom. Keeping true to his reputation as a musical chameleon, the album was a collection of alt-country infused tunes featuring guest appearances from the likes of Vince Gill, Marc Ribot and Buddy Miller.
Armed only with an acoustic guitar on his last visit, FL described Costello’s performance as a “collective remembrance of the past by the artist and the audience.” These shows are sure to be no different, with Costello promising to dip into his immense back-catalogue once again.
