The Gate's last backyard party
Mon 17th Jan, 2011 in Local News
Bringing a stellar line-up to the suburban backyard for a final time this Saturday, The Gate, which only announced its garden venue on Fasterlouder last July, will say goodbye to its residential home in Ryde.
Curated by the good folk at music blog whothehell.net, psychedelic juggernaut The Laurels, post-punk surf band Step Panther, indie five-piece Loon Lake and Sydney duo Fishing will take to the grass for this backyard venue’s last hurrah.
Although reasons behind the closure are still unknown, founders have released a statement through their Facebook page assuring faithful punters that the semi-regular independent music showcase will continue in the future.
“It’s not the end of The Gate (not by a long shot!), but it will be the end of this pretty amazing experience. Hope you’re up for the next installment!”
