MGMT congratulate Australia
Mon 17th Jan, 2011 in Local News
Already confirmed as headliners on the huge Future Music Festival bill, psychedelic pop stars MGMT will play two additional gigs while in town this March.
Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden were last Down Under for a blink-and-you-miss-it promo tour back in April 2010. The band played two sold-out gigs to fans eager to see their “dreamy and experimental” album Congratulations come to life on stage.
When speaking to FasterLouder about the band’s previous trips to Australia VanWyngarden admits that while he has had fun, he felt the band has never had the chance to show off their true colours, and promises that this time around things will be very different: “I just think we have never had the right moment to just be in the moment, so we are really looking forward to coming back refreshed and ready to put on a great show.”
FasterLouder presents MGMT supported by Pond playing the following shows this March:
Tuesday 8th March – The Palace, Melbourne
Thursday 10th March – The Enmore, Sydney
Tickets are $69+bf and on sale Monday 24th January.
