Want to shoot Grinderman?

Any photographer who has had the opportunity to focus a lens upon Nick Cave or Warren Ellis knows that, with their lupine facial hair and flailing limbs, they are two of this country’s most fascinating (and at times challenging) musicians to capture live.

Clearly the men themselves appreciate a good photo as well, because they are giving aspiring photographers across Australia the chance to get in the pit at one of Grinderman’s four Big Day Out sideshows.

All you have to do to be eligible is send a link of your digital portfolio to grindermanphotocontest@gmail.com . The band themselves will then choose a winner for each one of their shows, and the resulting photos will be posted on the band’s website and Facebook.

Contest instructions are as follows:
– Submit link to an online portfolio of your work to: grindermanphotocontest@gmail.com
– Enter the date of the specific show you wish to be considered for in your subject line. Eg. “17/1/11 Melbourne”
– Provide your full name and mobile number in the body of the e-mail
– Send us your e-mail no later than 48 hours before the show.
– If you plan to enter and have questions about the contest, please send them to: grindermanphotocontest@gmail.com
