Violent Soho for Flood BankBenefit Concert

The Brisbane music community has banded together to benefit their neighbours, friends and family affected by flooding throughout Queensland.

Flood Bank: A Brisbane Music Benefit Concert for 2011 Queensland Flood Victims will take place on Thursday 3rd February at the Old Museum, situated next to the RNA showgrounds which has been in use as an evacuation centre.

All proceeds (that’s 100%, folks) from event tickets and bar sales will be donated to the Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal to help those Queenslanders affected by the recent floods.

Violent Soho are confirmed to headline the event, and Ball Park Music, Inland Sea, The Medics, Bang Bang Boss Kelly, The Baby Seal Club, Blonde On Blonde, Grand Atlantic and Texas Tea join them with a few more surprises still to come.

Tickets will be available from www.oztix.com.au from 9am on Wednesday 19th January at 9am. Tix start at $30 but if you would like to donate more there will be $50 and $100 tickets available.

More details on the event are available on the Flood Bank Facebook page.

FL photographer Andrew Wade was one of the many who set out to photograph the devastation, viewable at www.feedback-photography.com. and Brisbane photographer Brad Marsellos, known for his music portraiture, has had his image of the King Wally statue with snorkels and floaties picked up by multiple media outlets.

If you are unable to attend but would like to donate, please go to http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.html

If you would like to volunteer please register at www.volunteeringqld.org.au
