Cee Lo Green cancels on GoodVibrations

Currently riding a wave of international acclaim on the back of his latest album The Lady Killer and its big single – and likely Hottest 100 front runnerFuck You, enduring soul-rap warrior Cee Lo Green was set to hit Australia at the 2011 Good Vibrations festival alongside other big names such as Phoenix, Faithless and Nas. But then his name disappeared from the lineup…

FasterLouder can now reveal that the charismatic US artist has now cancelled his appearance at Good Vibes due to scheduling conflicts. Good Vibrations’ has issued a statement to confirm the cancellation: We can confirm that Cee Lo Green has been invited by the Recording Academy to perform live at the Grammy awards in February. Unfortunately this means he will no longer be available to appear at the 2011 Good Vibrations Festival as originally planned. We wish Cee Lo all the best for his performance and his four Grammy nominations.

There’s no word of a replacement for Cee Lo’s spot or whether he’ll make up the dates sometime next year.

Good Vibrations festival dates:

Saturday 12th February – Centennial Park, Sydney
Sunday 13th February – The Nursery, Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne
Saturday 19th February – Parklands Showgrounds, Gold Coast
Sunday 20th February – Claremont Showground, Perth

Yeah as much as I think this is super dodge and unprofessional- at one of the real highpoints of your career, would you rather:

a. perform in front of some of the biggest names in the music industry and be televised around the world OR

b. play to a bunch of singlet and denim cut-off clad munted c**nts?

I guess Good Vibes is an Xbox, and the Grammys are more an Atari.

it depends - are you in the music industry because you have something you like to sing about, and have a love of performing in front of adoring crowds, or are you in the music industry to get fellated by whores, have your back slapped by industry starfuckers and bigwigs, and free champagne?

Oh come on... who's going to knock back the chance to accept a Grammy for best song - that's gotta be a fairly major moment for a songwriter! Neil Diamond's gonna ditch his tour to get inducted into the rock hall of fame as well.

Don't worry, everyone - I'm sure we can convince Gwyneth "T-Pain" Paltrow to come and sing Cee Lo for us at Good Vibes!

Personally, I'd prefer to be fellated by the type of "whores" at the Grammys than those at Good Vibes.

With the no-sideshows policy, I hold doubts about how many at GV would 'adore' his music. They, like they the folk at the Grammys, are just there for the event itself. At least the clothes and drugs are likely to be slightly better

Unless it's a really BIG monkey. Then it might stop the show.

lanesra23

Maybe they were trying to avoid the double negative by announcing them separately.

grattan

grattan said on the 21st Dec, 2010

Nope. The Ting Tings were added in addition and Cee Lo dropped off the lineuo for a bit, but we were told it was a glitch and that he was still playing.

I probably wouldn't have seen Cee Lo anyway, as there are a lot of other acts I'm keen on seeing. Interested to see who replaces him.

If Neil Diamond is ditching his tour just to get inducted to the rock and roll hall of fame they should really just not let him do that.Cancelling a tour to accept a shitty award isn't that rock and roll right? So if thats not that rnr he shouldn't belong in the hall of fame right??
