Spending New Year’s Eve in Canberra this year? Here’s FasterLouder’s picks for the night!

New Year’s in the City
Civic Square (London Circuit) and Garema Place from 7 pm FREE!

Two prominent sites in the city will again play host to New Year’s Eve celebrations, with a family-friendly concert in Civic Square, a dance party in Garema Place, and two fireworks displays at 9 pm and midnight.

From 7 pm, the main stage in Civic Square will be the place for families and music lovers of all ages to come along and enjoy performances by one of Australia’s favourite bands, The Whitlams, and local Canberra bands, Who’s Ya Daddy and Kiwi G.

From 9 pm, Garema Place will again host Bass in the Place. New Year’s Eve will rock to the beat of Australia’s top DJs.

Local star Jared De Veer will get the party started with DJ Samrai to follow. To kick off the new year dance legend Chris Fraser will be spinning the biggest dance hits of 2010.
