Last on Australian shores in 2008, Michael Franti and Spearhead are returning for the East and West Coast Blues and Roots festivals and their own headline tour as well.
Franti and his band will be playing tunes from their seventh studio album The Sound of Sunshine. Franti wrote most of the songs while recovering from a burst appendix and although this could have easily meant dark tunes about hard times, The Sound of Sunshine is as heartwarming and optimistic as ever. FasterLouder’s review of the album noted that Franti’s songs are ‘perfect beach side summer anthems, written to make you feel all fuzzy inside’.
Michael Franti and Spearhead will play at the following shows next April:
Monday 18th April – Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide
Tuesday 19th April – Palace Theatre, Melbourne
Sunday 24th April – Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Tickets on sale from 9am Friday 10th December
