BB King plays the blues

He may 85 years of age but BB King is still undeniably King Of The Blues. The Mississippi legend is headed our way to headline next year’s Bluesfest and, proving that nothing is slowing the man down just yet, has announced two sideshows for his April visit as well.

First picking up a guitar when he was twelve, King developed a unique style of playing that would go on to influence nearly every electric blues guitarist that followed. He came in at number three on Rolling Stone’s list of the ‘100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time’ and over his career has released a whopping 75 albums. In short, you’d be a damn fool to miss out on seeing this man play live.

BB King will play the blues at the following shows this April:

Tuesday 12th April – State Theatre, Sydney
Saturday 16th April – Hisense Arena (reduced mode), Melbourne

Tickets on sale Wednesday 8th December.

Of course they will be. And don't call me Shirley.

Nice nod to the recently deceased Leslie Nielsen.

Am I underestimating King's popularity? An "intimate" Hisense Arena seems like a big venue for him.
Saw Mr King with U2 in '89, he and his band were a lot of fun. Wonder if he's still got that energy 21 years on.

This might be the last time we ever get to see him. I've missed John Lee Hooker and Bo Diddley, so I'm not missing this.

hisense is pretty tiny for an arena so this should be unreal. although i feel like the forum would have a really good atmosphere

Got my Sydney tickets - bring it on!

3rd row suits us nicely too.

I've only been there for basketball and the WWF. Pretty vast and soulless.

Palais/Arts Centre/Recital Hall would've been a treat for Mr King.

WWF? As in, before they changed their name to WWE? Epic.

Showing my age again.

Was technically WWE, and was massively boring.

Hey MAB. I can confirm that MasterCard applause still have A res tix available, Although most tix through applause are increased cost, these are the same as the general public price ($154 per ticket) you just need to use a Mastercard when you purchase.
