Laneway adds locals inBrisbane and Perth

St Jerome’s Laneway Festival has announced local bands for Brisbane and Perth, enlisting the help of iconic venue The Zoo and the good people of Big Sound to help do so.

Given that The Zoo was once the location for Laneway it is very fitting that this year the festival has created a locals Zoo/Bigsound stage, aimed to show off the best this country has to offer.

Laneway Annnounces Local Acts in Perth & Brisbane

Excitement and anticipation for the next Laneway Festival is at fever pitch. Ticket sales are the strongest they’ve been everywhere, with the Melbourne and Sydney events selling out in record time, while news of the recently launched Singapore event made news around the globe and has been met with an incredible response across Asia.

We are pleased to announce the addition of some more artists and features at the PERTH and BRISBANE events.

In Perth, the festival site has grown significantly and expanded further into the streets, creating more room inside the festival grounds. The festival also regains access to the picturesque Urban Orchard in front of the Art Gallery which will be transformed into an international farmers’ market - where patrons go sit amongst the fruit and veg gardens whilst chowing down on the fine festival grub on offer.

In Brisbane, we have partnered up with iconic Brisbane venue THE ZOO and taste-making music conference BIGSOUND. Both have helped us program the new ZOO/BIGSOUND Stage - a new and ongoing feature of the festival in Brisbane. Like Laneway, both THE ZOO and BIGSOUND are committed to nurturing and presenting the best new music and we are thrilled with the latest association.

Graham Ashton, BIGSOUND Director 2010/2011 says: "You can consistently count on seeing your new favourite band each year at Laneway Festival. We believe the same to be true for BIGSOUND, therefore it makes perfect sense that 2011 becomes that start of a long term working relationship between both events".

Danny Rogers, Laneway co-founder/promoter says: ‘THE ZOO hosted the first two Laneway Festivals in Brisbane and without their passion and support we might not have ever made it up to BrisVegas ...We are thrilled to continue our relationship with THE ZOO and to start a wee collaboration with our like minded mates at BIGSOUND who are doing incredible things for the music industry in Australia.’
