Playground Weekender secondlineup

The already impressive lineup for Playground Weekender 2011, which features Kool and the Gang, Roy Ayers, Doves, De La Soul, Kate Nash, Four Tet, Caribou and more, has been bolstered by the addition of a pair of trip-hop innovators – Lamb and Tricky.

Three international guests that have recently announced tours – neo-soulster Mayer Hawthorne, retro girl group The Like and Mercury award nominees I Am Kloot – also join the Playground festivities beside new local additions including You Am I, Architecture in Helsinki and The Beautiful Girls.

Cool, congrats to Parades, Andy Bull and Slow Down Honey on the local front.

Very keen to see The Like in full band mode, though their acoustic set at Melt was lovely.

as with most other festival announcements this season, the omission of arcade fire has made this lineup slightly more disappointing than it should be.

You really thought Arcade Fire would play this? Not pgw style tbh, they have always gone slightly leftfield with their headliners and tried to pull an act that differenciates it with the others.

Given that the PGW organiser(s) is English, I think you can expect that PGW will feature English headliners most years instead of American ones.

Which is good, because everyone knows that English music is much better than American music.

I may have to give Kate Nash a listen. Another case of being scared off by a song the radio have played. I liked 'Foundations', but I find 'Pumpkin Soup' unlistenable.

Well, that album is a bit all over the shop. You might prefer My Best Friend is You, which is a little darker and a bit more cohesive. I prefer the first album but can definitely see why people would prefer the second.

Well im on a house boat so its a piece of cake for me, but usually they check the once before you catch the ferry across the river. the one time i camped i didnt get checked because it was too hot and the security were way to lazy. I think it isnt too hard to say get a bottle fo spirits in there, but you just have to be good and hiding and hope they dont decide to do the thorough check on your shit
