Kings of Leon confirm Marchtour

As rumoured, Kings of Leon will be returning to Australia in March for concerts in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Tickets for their previous visit in 2009 sold out in minutes, with FasterLouder’s reviewer in Melbourne noting that “Kings of Leon have certainly cemented themselves as one of Australia’s most loved international bands”

FasterLouder’s review of the band’s fifth album Come Around Sundown “delivers a compilation of sounds from the Kings of Leon back catalogue. It might not please the fans they’ve lost, but it will please those on the fence, be adored by those that love them unconditionally, and will probably disinterest those fans who only showed up for Sex on Fire.”

Kings of Leon tour:

Sunday 6 March – QSAC Stadium, Brisbane
Tuesday 8 March – ACER Arena, Sydney
Thursday 10 March – ACER Arena, Sydney
Sunday 13 March – Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
Thursday 17 March – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
Friday 18 March – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
Monday 21 March – nib Stadium, Perth

Tickets on sale Monday 6th December

Wow, they're already busting out the stadium tours. I'll definitely be at the brissie show, I'm not yet someone who has stopped saying they like KoL due to them being complete twats.

They do have a strong back catalogue, would be a good show depending on the set-list

Outstanding, incredibly worthwhile contribution. I can't imagine how this thread would have turned out without you.

I was on the fan side of the fence at their ent cent show and still thought they were shit. This is lies. I would go for free so long as X factor wasn't on at the same time.

These are the reasons why I like Kings of Leon:

- They have shitloads of talent
- They can actually play instruments live
- They write their own songs
- They choreograph all of their dances
- They designed the stage set for their live show
- They DO NOT LIP SYNC, which I saw The Killers were caught doing
- They sound amazing live and do not slow down at all during their 2 hour show!
- Their inspiration for performing was listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd(my favourite band) as a teenager
- They LOVE DUANE ALLMAN and can prove it
- They have killer style
- Their videos are more like works of art and not bands playing and singing (yaaawn!)
- They paid homage to Ang Lee, probably my favourite director, in the The Bucket video
- They brought out some fucking great clothes which I love!
- They learn to play by ear which is what I do so that's automatically cool!
- They have a train carriage, puppet monster AND a gyro thingy in their live show and wear all of the costumes from their videos and dance like maniacs on the floooor!

There! They are fucking cool and my girlfriend met them and they were really nice and not stuck up at all.

It's such a shame that KoL have gone down such a predictable path of mainstream dickheads. Aha Shake Heartbreak is one of my favourite ever albums, so many great chilled songs. Without that in their repertoire seeing them would be far less desirable. Already at stadium shows though? Pushing it a little.

It was my understanding that they play songs off all of their albums. And they played stadiums last time they were here.

Earlier this year I was well keen to see KOL again after missing them on the OBTN tour. (had caught them 5 times previously)

But the new album and the $130 asking price is pretty much guaranteeing my KOL tally will sit at "5" for a while to come.

OBTN set-lists looked great, with 3/4 of their catalogue being good stuff. This time around the good stuff only makes up 3/5 of their catalogue.

OBTN tour was great, but $40 cheaper than here. Then, take into account booking fee's etc, and you're looking at $150.

I'll be content with having seen them once.
