The Getaway Plan returns

In February 2009, The Getaway Plan called it quits just a year after the release of their debut album Other Voices, Other Rooms, but the band’s popularity continued to grow as the former Getaway Plan members played in The Amity Affliction, Young Heretics, Deez Nuts and Hopeless.

Following a pair of charity shows in September, which sold out in just 9 hours, and a teasing snippet of new music released in October there was much speculation that the band was preparing to reunite and release a new album.

Confirmation that the band is back has finally come today with the release of an official statement from the band:

Hello friends,
We’re happy to announce that we’re currently in the middle of writing new music for a release some time next year. In celebration of this, we’re also going to be doing a small tour in February, playing a selection of new, and old material. Thank you to everyone for being supportive and sticking with us for the last 2 years. Looking forward to seeing you all again.

That “small tour in February” will be supported by Sydney five piece Tonight Alive, fresh from recording their debut album in the United States with Mark Trombino, . and Melbourne’s Secrets In Scale

Tickets on sale Thursday 16 December, with no extra shows to be added in any city. Fans are warned to purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment.
