Disturbed down under

Having just released their fifth studio album Asylum, hard rock legends Disturbed will return to Australia next April with an all-star support cast.

The last time Disturbed was on our shores, the band had just released their US hit record Indestructible. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard charts and went on to receive a Grammy nomination. Come April, the band will be treating fans to the best of their back-catalogue and showcasing tunes from Asylum, an album on which Dromain takes on “a kind of leather-clad Jekyll-and-Hyde routine.”

Joining Disturbed down under come April will be thrash-metal overlords Trivium, meatal-core masters As I Lay Dying and local good things Forgiven Rival

Disturbed April 2011 tour dates:

Wednesday 20 April – Burswood Dome, Perth
Saturday 23 April -Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Adelaide
Sunday 24 April – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
Monday 25 April – Acer Arena, Sydney
Thursday 28 April – Newcastle Entertainment Centre , Newcastle
Saturday 30 April – Brisbane Entertainment Centre, Brisbane

Tickets on sale from 9am local time, Friday 26 November.

I missed disturbed last time so will definitely have to catch them, add trivium and I think this will be a super fun gig. Like as i lay dying too... come on 2011 so much musical goodness!

Fuckkkkkk, would go an As I Lay Dying or Trivium sideshow. Disturbed have a habit especially in the States of picking decent/popular supports to. Kinda sucks considering how shit they are and how dead nu-metal is.

The crowd at the last concert they had in sydney was far nicer than a lot of the crowds at small gigs I go to.

There were some guys there like that but most were normal people. Then again I went with a group so that made it more enjoyable anyways.

They're not high on my list in any way, but they put on a fun show. (was mainly there for alter bridge anyways. I thought creed would never get back together but nightmares do come true sometimes).

Alter Bridge are horrible. As a matter of fact, I remember that tour having possibly the worst quadruple bill ever in Disturbed, P.O.D., Alter Bridge and Behind Crimson Eyes. Truly nightmarish material.

No one liked behind crimson eyes(we walked in at the end of them playing anyways), alter bridge played great but only had a short set (black bird was a highlight and yes they did have a bit of a beatles opening but with a slowed down version of it, was quite nice), myles kennedy has a great voice and I was happy that creed were not in existance, the one change of a lead singer made a lot of difference to me. Only knew those 3 songs p.o.d. did but others seemeds to know the rest (and was fun to jump to anyways) and disturbed were a lot of fun. Not a deep concert but a fun concert.

I think the only thing possibly worse than having to go to the Acer Arena for a concert is to go there to see bands that makes glancing around at the chairs and railings in the venue more interesting than the stage itself.

Could not be less interested in seeing Disturbed after Asylum, unless they played some older stuff. Bring on As I Lay Dying and Trivium. Love to catch a sideshow for these guys!

Biffy are doing extra gigs while they're out here to support Muse, Little Dragon are doing gigs while here to support Gorillaz, Silversun did a headline gig while here to support Birds of Tokyo... headline shows for As I Lay Dying or Trivium are possible...

Yeah that was kinda my thoughts. Although knowing Murphy's Law, the show's would be at the Annandale 2 months out from my 18th birthday!

A lot can change in two years?
And the supports are pretty big in their own rights too

Hmm, I would actually be pretty surprised if any of the bands played a sideshow to this, especially any outside of Syd/Melbz, kind of disappointing. Definitely not going to an expensive Disturbed show at the BEC to see those bands who will play The Tivoli/Hi-fi the next time they tour...

I just struggle to believe that Disturbed will fill the BEC to capacity in 2011... Like surely Limp Bizkit and SOAD and other popular nu-metal bands wouldn't play entertainment centres in 2011? Maybe I am being ignorant or naive to something but I am genuinely surprised by how popular this band must be.

Considering Korn are struggling to sell out the Hordern and are headlining the Tivoli, when they filled acer arena 3 years ago... and they were one of the biggest Nu Metal bands, along with Limp Bizkit, I am equally bewildered.

I've found when a band brings out a "bigger" support cast there is more of a chance of them doing a smaller show on the side.

Not always though obviously.

I'm not expecting an Annandale show ala Cancer Bats.

since sickness there has been 4 Albumns so Davey your so behind the times your dead man. Believe. Ten thousand fists. Indestrucible, and Assylum. They have gotten more popular. Its just your all showing your vintage as well.

They were nominated in 2008 for Best Hard Rock performance along with,

Evanesence, Ozzy Osbourne, QOTSA and Foo Fighters.

The Foo's took it home.
