The Hold Steady sideshows
Fri 12th Nov, 2010 in Local News
Witness the world’s greatest bar band when The Hold Steady returns to Australia in March for the Golden Plains festival and sideshows on the East Coast.
The group toured Australia early last year with the St Jerome’s Laneway festival, playing sideshows which provided a highlight of the year for many punters – as FasterLouder’s review of the band’s Melbourne show declared “the almost 100 minute long set was top class display of how good modern rock can get in a live venue.”
Though the new album Heaven is Whenever lacks Franz Nicolay’s mustachioed presence on keyboard – Nicolay has left the group and joined Against Me! as a touring member – FasterLouder’s review of the album reported that “Craig Finn is still singing about the same urban/suburban catholic life that inhabits his soul.”
Hold Steady sideshows:
Tuesday 8th March – Metro Theatre, Sydney
Wednesday 9th March – The Zoo, Brisbane
Friday 11th March – The Hi-Fi, Melbourne
Tickets on sale Thursday 18th November
