With just one month to go until Australia gets the full-on live experience from Damon Albarn’s cartoon band come to life, Gorillaz, on the Escape To Plastic Beach tour , we now have a little something else to get excited about, with the announcement of the acts opening for the fabled supergroup.

Having already announced a meaty guest cast of big artists like Bobby Womack and rapper Bootie Brown, it makes sense for the openers to draw from the same pool, and fans will be pumped to hear that mighty hip-hop legends and regular Gorillaz collaborators De La Soul will be providing full sets of support, boosted by Swedish electronic stars Little Dragon. Now that’s an epic night!

While Little Dragon have announced a few shows of their own around the tour, this’ll likely be the only chance for fans to get their De La live fix until the group returns in 2011 for a Playground Weekender-based tour.

Wednesday 8th December – Entertainment Centre, Adelaide
Saturday 11th December – Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
Thursday 16th December – Entertainment Centre, Sydney
Sunday 19th December – Entertainment Centre, Brisbane
