Kristen Stewart’s rock sneer in the bio-pic The Runaways, has put Joan Jett back in the spotlight and she’s on her way to Australia to see in the new year at Falls Festival, Southbound and Sunset Sounds before heading to Sydney to hold court at Sydney’s Annandale Hotel.
The chance to see a performer with Jett’s reputation in a venue like the Annandale for what the promoter’s are calling an “extraordinary one-off” is damn exciting news!
Announcing the gig, Jett told The Daily Telegraph that 2010 “has been a long, tough year with the film and I lost my mother. She was a big reason The Runaways were able to happen. She let me do it, and she talked to the other mothers so the other girls could do it. It’s been a weird time having to look back on all of that, so now I’m looking forward to a new chapter.”
