Blackalicious down under

Having debuted in a big way back in 2009 with a lineup boasting hip hop icons like DJ Premier and The Beatnuts, the Rap City tour is set to return even bigger and better later this year with another massive lineup.

Taking in three big dates across the country this December the Rap City 2010 summer throwdown looks the business for local hip hop fans, with beloved Sacramento duo Blackalicious in the headliner spot.

The Blackalicious pair will be joined on the multi-date tour by some other talented urban figures including rapper Murs, who’ll be teaming up with production guru 9th Wonder, as well as veteran MC R.A. the Rugged Man.

There’s said to be even more names to follow, so stay tuned for the details. In the meantime, check out the Rap City 2010 tour dates below and get your tickets on November 3rd.

Rap City 2010: Summer Throwdown dates:

Thursday 16th December – The Forum, Sydney
Friday 17th December- HQ , Adelaide
Saturday 18th December – The Espy, Melbourne

SHOCK! Hip hop tour cancelled/postponed....

The organisers of the upcoming 'Rap City' tour, featuring Blackalicious, Murs & 9th Wonder and RA the Rugged Man, have regretfully had to postpone the December Australian tour due to circumstances beyond their control. All ticket holders can obtain a full refund from their place of purchase.

The organisers apologise for any disappointment and inconvenience incurred. However, we can confirm that all acts are re-confirmed for tours in 2011 and details will be released accordingly.

Never seen Blackalicious before. I love Blazing Arrow, though - would like to see them next year whenever they come back.

I saw Blackalicious at The Forum last time they came out. Was pretty cool with live percussion and back up singers, but the sound was hands down the worst i have ever heard. Just so unnecessarily loud that everything was completely distorted. I was pretty close to the front for opening acts, People Under The Stairs and DJ Qbert and the sound was fine, but then when Blackalicious came out it was unbearable, even moved as far back as i could and it was still too loud.

I would see them again but if the sound was as bad as last time i would feel pretty ripped off.
