Grinderman for MONA FOMA

Two-headed jokes aside, Tasmania has some pretty amazing things happening in its music scene at the moment and none more so than MONA FOMA – the music and art festival that was launched in Hobart two years ago.
Curated by Violent Femmes bassist and Hobart resident Brian Ritchie the 2011 event is shaping up to be the festival’s’ most interesting year yet, coinciding with the opening of Hobart’s Museum of Old and New Art ( the MONA part of the title).
Some of the acts confirmed for the Festival of Music and Art in 2011 include Grinderman, Wire, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Health, Amanda Palmer, The Break and a range of different performance artists.
MONA FOMA includes both ticketed and non-ticketed events and runs from 14th January – 23rd January in and around Hobart. The full schedule will be released in December. Head to the festival’s website for more details.
